Editions

Every work leaves the studio under one of the categories below. The category is decided once, when the work is released, and is never revisited.

  1. Original paintings and drawings are unique. One of one. When an original sells, it is gone.
  2. Limited editions are capped at the stated size — typically 10 — and are printed at archival quality, signed, and numbered by hand. Once an edition is complete, the work will never be reprinted, reissued, or reproduced as a fine-art print in any size or format.
  3. Each limited edition print ships with a certificate of authenticity stating the edition size and number.
  4. Prices within a limited edition may rise as the edition sells. Early numbers are priced lowest. Price increases are documented and permanent.
  5. Open editions are unsigned and unnumbered and remain available indefinitely. A work released as an open edition will never become a limited edition, and a work released as a limited edition will never become an open edition.
  6. Hand-pulled prints — linocut and other handmade processes — are original editioned works, not reproductions. They are numbered and signed, and follow the same cap-and-never-reissue rule as limited editions.
  7. Studies are unique works on paper made in the course of developing finished work. They are labeled as studies and priced as studies.
  8. Apparel and merchandise are a separate category. They may feature imagery from any work, including limited editions, and are not fine-art editions of any kind.
